Description |
A spectacular GEM example of this R-7- (fewer than 12 known) Standard Silver pattern dime featuring Barber’s Seated Liberty design, struck in copper with the a reeded edge.
Deep reflective mirrors show bold contrast against the reliefs. A subtle reddish-violet and rose patina seems to float on an icy lake of brilliant coppery mirrors. The devices are fully struck up and fully and crisply defined. The fields are generally very clean, free of all but the most insignificant ticks; most of which are mint made (a couple of microscopic lint marks, die lines, and planchet flakes). The visual allure is strong and among the finest for the Judd-827 extant.
PCGS 1, NGC 1. We believe that this is represents the same coin. The only time the NGC PR65 RD CAM sold was in July 2009, realizing $4,025. Collector’s Universe does not list a value for this coin/grade in their price guide. This is another cool Standard Silver pattern that we are offering in this sale. Of all the series in the pattern reference, the Standard Silver series offers a wide variety of issues to specialize in, and make a cool subset to focus on. If you are looking for a new area to collect, get a load of this RD CAM.
